Individual Membership is open to hospital teachers, home and hospital educators, researchers, and other stakeholders with a professional interest in the education of children and young people with medical or mental health needs.

Individual members become part of the HOPE professional community, gaining access to shared resources, professional learning opportunities, and HOPE events, including congresses and webinars. Individual members are entitled to full voting rights within the organisation and may stand for election to the Board of Directors.

Subsidised Individual Membership is intended for hospital teachers and other individual professionals who wish to engage with HOPE but for whom the full membership fee presents a financial barrier.

HOPE is committed to equity and inclusion within its professional community. Subsidised individual membership provides the same access, rights, and opportunities as standard Individual Membership, including full voting rights. Requests for subsidised membership are treated with discretion and respect.

Institutional Membership is available to hospital schools, education services, universities, charities, and other organisations that wish to formally support and engage with the work of HOPE.

Institutional members are publicly listed as members of HOPE and may nominate a representative to engage with the organisation on their behalf. Each institutional membership carries the voting rights of one member at the General Assembly, regardless of the size of the institution. Institutional membership demonstrates a commitment to collaboration, shared learning, and the advancement of inclusive educational practice across Europe and beyond.

Subsidised Institutional Membership is available to schools, services, or organisations that align with HOPE’s mission and, through an honour-based self-assessment, determine that financial constraints prevent them from paying the full institutional membership fee.

Subsidised institutional members enjoy the same recognition, participation, and voting rights as standard institutional members, including one vote at the General Assembly. This category reflects HOPE’s commitment to ensuring that economic circumstances do not prevent meaningful participation in the international hospital education community.
