Objectives   History and Status

For Report of HOPE Workshops 17 in Amsterdam:

on WS 17 were present six people from Italy, Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Ireland and Slovenia.

For the Children and adolescents who were integrated or reintegrated into mainstream schools after long staying in Hospital school or home, we came to the conclusion that in all six countries conducted and help solve long absence from mainstream school at about the same way:

  • communication among hospital school, parents, medical team, mainstream school, sick child and school peers,
  • they are also planning together.

Differences have shown by legislation of each country.

We want to gather data about legislation each of the country. This is the first step of our future work.

plan can be made to optimize the teaching circumstances, so that the educational barriers that may exist
will be diminished.

This short quotation from Mr. Mourik’s book is in my opinion the best description of a
hospital teacher, who is now taking roles of an educator, facilitator, consultant, advisor.
And I’m sure you are able to describe many more roles, that you are engaged in daily …
